At the Warm-UP event held on Monday, October 7, at Bloomberg, the Secretary of Telecommunications of the Ministry of Communications, Hermano Tercius Tercius, represented the Ministry and opened the debate panels, emphasizing that digital inclusion means providing opportunities for people to access information and communication technologies. He also highlighted the Ministry’s investment in infrastructure to further expand internet access across the country.
“We are committed to ensuring mobile coverage in all locations, building eight digital highways with over 12,000 kilometers of cable to serve 59 cities, hospitals, schools, and municipal offices with their essential services. Additionally, our Computers for Inclusion program has already donated 5,755 computers and is expected to deliver 12,960 more by December of this year,” said the Secretary of Telecommunications.
Alongside the Ministry of Communications, Anatel - National Telecommunications Agency, professionals from the telecommunications sector, and the financial market were also present at the event. Two central panels were held: one on the need for massive infrastructure investments and pathways to expanding digital inclusion and positioning Brazil in the global telecommunications landscape, featuring Anatel Counselor Artur Coimbra, consultant José Felipe Ruppenthal, and Associação NEO President Rodrigo Schuch, moderated by Karine Mansour, CEO of Mansour Consulting. The second panel addressed innovations such as 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT) and how they are transforming global industries and the worldwide telecommunications economy.
This event aimed to foster closer discussions among participants. The idea of promoting events in this format has been consolidating within Warm-UP with each edition.
